A Great Time in New York with Denis

Then again I can’t really think of a time I didn’t have a great time in New York. There were a couple of very very small bumps but in all just a wonderful wonderful trip. (This will be the first of several posts about the trip that I'll do over the next couple of days.

The weather was the big concern going up. It sounded like the heavens were going  to open up from the time we got there to the time we left. As it turned out, there were only a couple of hours where we had to deal with rain. It was cloudy but by Wednesday afternoon the skies had cleared.

We ran into a bunch of really great people who made our trip. And I had a rather unusual famous person sighting.

Only bad part of the trip was on the bus ride up. The whole ride up wasn’t bad. It was the the air conditioning in the area we were sitting in didn’t seem to be working. The rest of the bus was fine. I was more than ready to be off that bus by the time we reached New York. From then on we had no problems.

The bus got us in a few minutes early. There was absolutely no traffic at the Lincoln Tunnel at all. That's one of the major road blocks for getting into the city. Speaking of road blocks we went a round about way to reach our drop off point because there was a semi blocking the street we needed to go down. But like I said even with all of this we got in early.

After we got off the bus, first things first was a bathroom stop. After we’d taken care of that we stopped off at a Pret and grabbed something for lunch.

We kept walking up to Times Square to get in the line for half price tickets. We got in line a little after 12:30 and they opened at 2. The weather wasn't bad and it was nice not to be sitting for a change and the time passed quickly.

Both of the shows we wanted to see, Kinky Boots and A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, were on the board. I stood in line while Denis went off and saw the city. It had been a really long time since he'd been in New York. I decided I wanted to see Kinky Boots more than Guide. That's what I opted for. We got good seats in the mezzanine.

Out next stop was the hotel.

The tkts line in Times Square.

Me enjoying my sandwich from Pret. It was good!

Just a few of the choices of shows to see.
