Washington Wanderings — Georgetown, Part I

Last Saturday after my TRX class at my gym, I went for walk into Georgetown. I decided to walk down and see Washington Harbor. I hadn't been down for a couple of years and wanted to see what was new. Just north of the harbor they developed a really nice park with a fountain and seats right on the river to watch the goings on on the river.

Here's a brief description of the Harbor from its website:
Welcome to Washington, D.C.’s premier destination on the Potomac River waterfront.
Take a stroll along the boardwalk and take in the nation’s iconic scenery – watch the boats, see the views of the Kennedy Center, Watergate, Key Bridge, and across the water to Virginia.

On the plaza and on the promenade, grab a snack or choose from a variety of terrific restaurants, and indulge in al fresco dining. From April through October, the picturesque plaza fountain puts on a show, streaming up to 65’ every 30 minutes, along with special lighting effects and music in the evenings. In November, the fountain transforms into the Washington Harbour Ice Rink, open every day for public skating, until March. At almost 12,000 square feet, it’s DC’s largest outdoor rink, and offers plenty of special activities for all ages every week.

This lifestyle center is a major highlight of the legendary neighborhood of Georgetown, with shops, restaurants, offices, and luxury condominiums. Come for the live entertainment and outdoor fun all year round – click on Events and see what’s on schedule at the Washington Harbour.

It was a wonderful day to be out for a walk and down by the river.
